The greatest threat to peace on earth and a bright future for young Americans is the continued adherence to a philosophy of domination and materialism over cooperation and mutual benefit.  As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. put it in 1967, “We (America) must rapidly begin the shift from a thing-oriented society to a person-oriented society”…because, “when machines and computers, profit motives and property rights, are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered.”  I grew up with the Vietnam War, political assassinations and violently suppressed civil rights protests and the dream I have is to follow through with Dr. King’s 40-year-old vision.  I believe the way to accomplish this transformation for America is to tell the whole truth to young people on a massive scale and motivate them to think for themselves, cherish life, care about one another and fully participate in their own government.

I have spent 20 years researching a broad range of topics related to life and living in America and I have condensed this information into a resource book called, The Handbook of How It Is.  This book, combined with highly entertaining and informative spoken-word presentations, delivered at colleges nationwide, over many years, will inspire a youth “wisdom and democracy” movement of self-generating proportions.  The result of this movement will be a “people-oriented” democracy in America where government policies and actions are judged first by their benefits to human beings and then by their potential for profits. This people-orientation will inspire unmatched creativity, intellectual cooperation, competent government and healthy economic growth to solve our current challenges and lead the way to a peaceful, bright future for young Americans and all humankind.
